CBD has exploded in recent years and there is good reason for … it really does make a difference!
CBD changed our lives, and this is why we are so passionate about CBD products and why hapihemp was born.
CBD oil oral drops are probably the most well-known CBD product, however, over the past couple of years, there have been many new CBD products on the market. There are hundreds of CBD oils available today and it’s important to always do your research before buying a CBD oil as they are not all made equal.
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the cannabis Sativa plant, which is also known as cannabis or hemp and has been known throughout history to have a wealth of proposed health benefits. First discovered in 1940, it is one of over 100 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.
Of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, two of the main players are CBD and THC. CBD is the non-psychoactive compound of the plant, so what that means is you won’t have any effects like euphoria. CBD is not psychoactive and won’t make you ‘high’.
CBD is a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles.
Once CBD has been extracted from the plant, it is blended with a carrier oil such as hemp seed oil, olive oil or MCT oil. We choose to blend all of our CBD oils with MCT oil as we believe that is by far the best method.
In the UK there are extremely strict restrictions, all of which we adhere to. CBD oils can only have a maximum content of 0.2% THC. On some websites, you may be able to buy a CBD oil that has more, but it won’t be legal!
All of our CBD oils are tested and come with full lab reports. We offer CBD oil oral drops in two flavours – mint and natural, some of which also come in various strengths:
The strength of an oil means how much CBD you get in each bottle. The higher the strength the more CBD you get per drop. All our bottles are 10ml in size so it’s easy to translate – 2.5% gives you 250mg of CBD per bottle, 5% gives you 500mg of CBD per bottle, 15% gives you 1500mg of CBD per bottle and so on. Unfortunately, not everyone in the industry is honest and you may find that CBD % and CBD mg will vary depending on bottle size so don’t be fooled by sellers trying to trick you! – if you buy a 30ml bottle of CBD oil with 500mg of CBD, it’s not even close to the strength of our 10ml bottle of CBD oil with 500mg of CBD. This is why we also include the % strength on our labels too. A 5% CBD strength in a 10ml or 30ml bottles equal the same amount of CBD per drop.
Why would you need a stronger CBD oil? Simply put, once your body adjusts you may end up needing more CBD than you initially did. Once you establish the mg of CBD you require each day, it may work out more cost-effective for you to buy a higher strength as this gives you more CBD per drop, meaning you will need fewer drops per day than you would in a lower strength.
So, what does each tell you about our CBD oils and how do they differ? Before we start let’s take a quick look at cannabinoids…
Cannabinoids and their role in our well-being
Cannabinoids are the natural phytochemicals found within the cannabis plant.
There are over 113 identified cannabinoids — with CBD and THC being the most thoroughly researched.
But why are cannabinoids so important for our well-being? Because they interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a complex network of cannabinoid receptors and neurotransmitters.
In 1995, researchers found that cannabinoids like CBD and THC could benefit our health and wellness in many ways.
Later, they discovered that each cannabinoid has a unique relationship with the endocannabinoid system. For example, large quantities of THC induces psychoactive effects linked to “getting high.” However, CBD will not. In other words, it will not make you high.
If an extract is a full spectrum, this means it contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, and terpenes. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp also come with a negligible THC content — below 0.2% which brings its own benefits.
The full spectrum of the active compounds extracted from hemp work together to increase the health benefits of each individual cannabinoid. This phenomenon is referred to as the entourage effect.
Although non-psychoactive, full-spectrum CBD can in very rare cases show up in a drug test. If you need a guarantee that it won’t, this is where broad-spectrum THC Free comes in.
Broad-spectrum THC free CBD oil contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant, apart from THC, which is completely removed. Because THC free CBD oil extracts contain multiple cannabinoids, they also produce the “entourage effect,” but without the THC.
To simplify, broad-spectrum THC free CBD contains the entire spectrum of cannabinoids EXCEPT for the THC. So if you were in the police force, security services or a teacher or subject to random drug tests in your workplace, this may be the better option for you.
Many factors can point you in the direction of one CBD oil instead of the other.
Your unique body chemistry, your weight, lifestyle, as well as your history with other supplements — each of these factors can influence the way you react to different cannabinoid profiles.
For some, broad-spectrum THC free CBD may be the best choice as it delivers some of the entourage effects without any THC whereas others may prefer more THC to feel the difference.
There is still much research to be done to monitor the effectiveness of each spectrum, so the best thing you can do for now is a little trial and error to figure out which option you prefer.
Always start low (strength) and increase slowly, remembering that CBD can take anywhere up to 3 or 4 weeks to take full effect so it’s best to take your time before doing this. Be assured that with hapihemp, you’re getting a safe, quality product.
Our assurance to you is that our CBD drops contain the highest quality Cannabis sativa L. Extract. Organically grown and extracted using state of the art C02 extraction techniques, hapihemp offers this CBD oil with a quality that goes unrivalled.
