Are CBD oils the same?
In short, no they are not.
The CBD industry is unregulated so what you find online will vary greatly in quality, safety and effectiveness. Your CBD oil can be totally THC-free CBD oil or like in this case for our full spectrum CBD oil as well as our cold-pressed CBD oils, all the compounds of the plant remain in the oil to bring you maximum benefit and full entourage effect.
Extraction
Once CBD is extracted from the plant, it can be mixed with different types of carrier oils like hempseed, olive or coconut oils and the method used to extract the CBD from the plant varies too. The most common is ethanol extraction or C02 extraction, however, more recently cold pressing has become an option within the world of CBD. Cold pressing simply means applying enough pressure to the plant until the “juice” extracts. It’s a technique that has been around and proven for centuries.
So, the main difference between our full-spectrum CBD oils and our cold-pressed oils is the extraction method used to remove the oil from the plant. Our current full-spectrum CBD oils are extracted using what was considered to be the best method available in the UK (before cold pressing became an option). Of all the methods that can be used to extract CBD oil, C02 extraction has been considered the cleanest and to produce the best quality full spectrum oil – so naturally wanting the best for our customers, this is what we always offered. We were never going to settle for cheaper extraction methods that may not be quite as safe or clean – this has always been very important to us.
Cold-Pressed Oils
Then came along cold-pressed CBD oil and we are very excited about it!
However clean C02 extraction is, part of the process includes some heating of the plant, and much like when you cook your veggies at home, this means that some of the nutrients are lost. The result still brings a top-quality CBD oil packed with the CBD, cannabinoids and terpenes that your body loves, however much like your cooked veggies, some of the nutrients have been lost.
Keen to be able to offer the best to our customers, we are always on the lookout for the best way to keep the full range of nutrients from the plant – just as nature intended – and still produce a top-quality oil in all of the various strengths we offer. We are pleased to say that cold pressing is the answer!
Strength
Along with a patented method used to ensure that we are able to produce higher strength cold pressed CBD oils that are still within the UK legal limit for THC content, but absolutely all-natural and retain all of those important nutrients. Some companies top their higher strength cold pressed CBD oils up with CBD isolate (isolate is a process used to isolate only CBD from the plant and removes all the other compounds) to get higher-strength oils, but not us at hapihemp! You are getting the fully natural cold-pressed CBD oil mixed with a mild and beneficial coconut carrier oil. The absolute best available.
Lab Reports
Of course, just like with our full spectrum CBD oils, we also ensure you have full access to view lab reports for our cold-pressed CBD oils too, ensuring you have the peace of mind that we know you need in an unregulated industry.
Conclusion
So, in summary, the key difference between our full-spectrum CBD oil and our cold-pressed CBD oil is the extraction method used. We love all of our CBD oils but cold-pressed CBD oil is by far our favourite because it maintains all the nutrients and properties available in the plant that are beneficial to us. Choosing cold-pressed CBD oil means you get a similar balance of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids – all with just as much potency as mother nature originally intended.
